Latest Updates from Our Project:

Two weeks! Spread the word!
almost 10 years ago – Tue, Apr 12, 2016 at 07:02:13 PM

We're at the halfway point and closing in on $20,000 and our next stretch goal! It's been great to have all of this support so far.

We'd like to unlock more stretch goals, so now, midway through this campaign, we have a couple of favors to ask- anything you can do will be appreciated:

#1: Share this project. Tell your friends, tell your facebook feed, tell any and all social media- but most importantly tell your gaming groups and people you know personally who you think might want to check it out!

#2: Visit https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/197679/crown-exile - thanks to some clever backer we now have an entry that I'll be updating. Become a fan, talk up the Kickstarter anywhere you can on BGG!

At this point the solitaire version seems like a foregone conclusion, I'm getting some photos ready to show you what it will look like when we cross that line- maybe today. I hope you're all as excited as I am!

Stretch Goals!
almost 10 years ago – Tue, Apr 05, 2016 at 12:04:53 AM

Fleur De Leeples/Lyples/Meeples/whatever you want to call them have been added to Crown of Exile as we've shot past our funding goal and our first stretch goal in under a week! Thank you all very much for your support! Crown of Exile is just going to keep getting better.

We've put together a graphic showing the next few goals- but I'm going to talk about it a bit here as well:

$20k: "Royal Scion Solitaire" Variant:

A solitaire version of Crown of Exile challenges players to become the last living heir to the king's house, returning after your birthright has already been cast into chaos and race to restore some semblance of order before unrest and invasion crushes what little scraps remain of your once great kingdom. Royal Scion Solitaire will use a set of quests arrayed to form a map that you must proceed through by completing adjacent quests, all while your maintaining those you've already claimed, all while invaders attack and destroy quests- ruining what might have been your perfect path to victory- unless you can use attacks to stop them. Royal Scion Solitaire rules will be included in PDF format and additional game components will be added the Print & Play files as well as the Deluxe version of the Crown of Exile.

$25K: Improved Quest Art:

Each quest will get its own unique art, adding more variety and majesty to the stained glass tableau of your eventual rise to power or defeat at the verge of victory.

$30k: Enemies of the crown mini-expansion:

We'll hold off on all of the details, but this mini-expansion will introduce new cards (quests & houses) that allow players to take on the roles of enemies of the kingdom bent on destroying, conquering or corrupting it rather than restoring order and prosperity.

Oh! and one more thing. As an additional bonus we've made room for another two backer house cards. We'll be putting them up momentarily at a new $300 tier! Happy pledging!

Funded!
about 10 years ago – Wed, Mar 30, 2016 at 01:41:42 PM

At just over 26 hours we are funded! Thanks to all of you early supporters for putting this project on the map. You've got about 12 months to make space on your shelves :)

We're really proud and excited about this- and now we can start making it even better.

A list of the next few stretch goals is coming but for now we'll reveal #1:

At $16,000 we'll upgrade the blue disc influence tokens in the deluxe version to fleur de leeples (fleur de lys shaped wooden tokens) to go along with the red soldier meeples and turkey leg food tokens already included in the deluxe version. Here's a mockup, we'll be aiming for something like this as we work with our manufacturer to get these produced.

In other news- a number of you have messaged asking about additional high level tiers. We may open up a few more 'house' slots (probably at a slightly higher price point since now it means adding cards), and I'll be looking for other opportunities to create tiers that include backers in the creative process a bit more. I'll keep you posted!

And please share this project like crazy!
